About datafood
datafood makes the FSVO’s Swiss food composition database V7.1 readable and usable: food composition, nutrient rankings, comparison and calculation tools, in four languages.
The mission
The official data exists, but it lives in a search box that is hard to explore. datafood turns it into clear pages: every food, every nutrient, every comparison. Always with the source, the version and the origin of each value.
The rules the site sets itself
- The FSVO data is the only truth: no value is invented, estimated or borrowed from another database.
- No health claims: the site publishes composition, never a supposed benefit.
- Visible attribution on every page, source version displayed.
- Tools run 100% client-side: no personal data is transmitted.
Publisher
datafood, independent editorial project, Switzerland. The publisher is affiliated neither with the FSVO nor with the federal administration; the database is used in accordance with its licence (commercial use permitted, attribution required).
