Totals for your plate

The totals update from the first food added: energy, 22 nutrients and their share of the reference values.

Composition of the plate

Sum of the published values, across all the foods and amounts entered.

NutrientTotal% NRV*

* Share of the nutrient reference values for an adult (FIV annex 10), for the whole plate. For dietary fibre the annex sets no value: the 30 g per day figure is indicative. Sodium is calculated from salt. “n. d.”: no food on the plate has a published value for this nutrient.

What each food contributes

Breakdown of energy and macronutrients, by food on the plate.

    What this sum is not

An addition of values measured on foods taken separately. Cooking, draining and losses of water or fat are not modelled: choose the state of the food that matches your preparation.

    The ≥ sign

When a food on the plate has no published value for a nutrient, the site invents nothing: it writes “≥”, because the real total is at least the one shown.
